# Can I use WonderConnect eSIM?

To use a WonderConnect eSIM, your device must be eSIM compatible and carrier-unlocked. Here’s what that means and what else you need to get started.

## Technical Requirements

-   **eSIM compatible** means your device has a built-in chip that supports eSIM technology. This is part of the hardware. If your phone or tablet doesn’t have this chip, it can’t support eSIM, even with a software update.
