# Samsung - How to Activate eSIM Mobile Data

If you installed your eSIM before your trip and have now arrived at your destination, it's time to activate your eSIM mobile data.

> **Info:** We created these instructions based on Samsung Galaxy S24, Android 14.

> **Success:** Your data plan starts when your eSIM first connects to a **supported network**. For most plans, this happens when you enable roaming at your destination.

### Turn On Your eSIM

1.  Open Settings:
    
    -   Go to **Connections**.
        
    -   Tap **SIM manager**.

2.  Tap the toggle next to the eSIM name.
    
    -   In the pop-up, tap **Turn on**.

### Select eSIM for Mobile Data

3.  In the Preferred SIMs section:
    
    -   Tap **Calls** and select your primary SIM.
        
    -   Tap **Messages** and select your primary SIM.
        
    -   Tap **Mobile data** and **select your new eSIM**.

4.  **Turn off** Data switching.

### Turn On Roaming

5.  Go back to Connections:
    
    -   Tap **Mobile networks**.

6.  In Mobile networks:
    
    -   Tap **Data roaming**.
        
    -   Select **All networks**.
        
    -   In the "Attention" pop-up, tap **OK**.

    > **Warning:** Turning on roaming allows your eSIM to connect to local networks for internet access. Don't worry - this won't affect your previous setup. Your phone will continue using the eSIM for data as you configured earlier.
    >
    > **Please note**: Your home carrier might still charge for incoming calls or messages while abroad. WonderConnect eSIMs only provide mobile data.
    

### Test the Connection

7.  Turn off Wi-Fi and browse the internet. As you use data for the first time, we will send you an SMS confirmation of successful activation.
    
    🎉 **Your eSIM is now active!**
    
    > **Info:** If you use the WonderConnect mobile app, the data usage bar will update within 10 minutes of your first data use.
