# Why don’t I have 5G?

Even if your phone supports 5G and your eSIM includes access to a 5G network, 5G may not be available in every part of your destination country.

Coverage depends on the local operator and your exact location. You may get 5G in one city or neighborhood and 4G/LTE in another. Indoor coverage can also vary.

## Check 5G support in your WonderConnect account

Some WonderConnect eSIMs support 5G only in selected countries or with selected local network operators.

1. Open your WonderConnect account in the app or on the website.

2. Select your eSIM.

3. Open **Details**.

4. Check the network information and maximum speed.

If 5G is supported, check that your phone is set to use it.

## How to enable 5G on iPhone for the eSIM

1. Open **Settings** and go to **Mobile Service**. On some iPhones, this section is called **Cellular**.

2. Tap your **eSIM**.

3. Tap **Voice & Data**.

4. Select **5G Auto** or **5G On**.

With **5G Auto**, your iPhone may use LTE to save battery. **5G On** uses 5G whenever it is available. Neither option can provide 5G where there is no coverage.

## How to enable 5G on Google Pixel for the eSIM

1. Open **Settings** and go to **Network & internet**.

2. Tap **SIMs**.

3. Select your eSIM.

4. Tap **Preferred network type**.

5. Select an option that includes **5G**.

## How to enable 5G on Samsung and other Android devices

Menu names may vary depending on your phone model.

1. Open **Settings** and go to **Connections**.

2. Tap **Mobile networks**.

3. Tap **Network mode**. If asked, select your eSIM.

4. Select an option that includes **5G**, such as **5G/LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)** or **5G preferred**.

On other Android phones, look under **Settings > Network & internet > SIMs > your eSIM > Preferred network type**.

## Still seeing 4G or LTE?

If your plan supports 5G and your settings are correct, 5G coverage may be weak or unavailable where you are. Your phone will use **4G/LTE** instead so you can stay connected.

> **Info:** 5G support in the plan details means you can access 5G where coverage is available. It does not guarantee 5G throughout the country.

## When to switch to 4G/LTE

If mobile data is not working or your connection keeps dropping, temporarily switching from 5G to **4G/LTE** may help.

Follow the steps above for your phone, then select **LTE**, **4G**, or an option without 5G, such as **LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)**.

Try opening a website to check the connection. You can switch back to 5G later, especially after moving to another location.
